Wes Courtney is the Lead Pastor of Revival Temple. Pastor Wes, along with his wife, Melissa, served in various capacities under the leadership of Pastor W.S. McMasters since 1978. In 2001, Pastor Wes became Lead Pastor and continues to lead our church in a vision that would serve the church, the surrounding communities, and the World.
His practical teachings are not only life-applicable but are personal and meaningful. Pastor Wes’ experience and wisdom, coupled with continual passion and purpose, propels Revival Temple forward to reach beyond our walls into our city, across the borders, and around the World.
Pastor Wes and his wife, Melissa, have 3 children and 5 grandchildren, and make their home in Walker, Louisiana. Their passion for the days to come brings life and excitement for the future as we continue leading imperfect people to a perfect God.
Daryl Courtney serves as Assistant Pastor of Revival Temple. Daryl has a genuine passion for reaching the lost with the life-changing message of the gospel. He is a worshiper at heart and sincerely aims to point people to God by any means possible, and hopes to encourage people and help them along their personal, daily walk with Jesus.
Daryl and his wife, Lauren, are the proud parents of Maddox and Andi. God has been preparing Daryl over the years as he has faithfully served in ministry and is excited and expectant to see all that God has in store for everyone who connects with Revival Temple!
WHO WE ARE
Revival Temple is a non-denominational Christian church that passionately follows Jesus, loves God, and loves His people. We’re a local church that reaches into the community with a global vision and a desire to see people here and around the world know Jesus. As we pursue God’s mission to see the Kingdom of God established across the earth, we’re called to be a church that equips God’s people for the journey ahead. We are passionate about reaching people everywhere, and no matter where you are in your journey, you are welcome here.
We are courageous in giving and Jesus is our greatest example of giving and generosity. He gave of Himself so that others might have life and we recognize that God has given us time, talent and resources so that others might be loved, served and given life. As we are courageous in faithfully and sacrificially giving what we have – our time, talents and resources, God partners with us to see a multiplied impact in the lives of people here in our community and around the world.
Though we have a rich history, we don’t live in the past. We are grateful for where we have been, but our journey isn’t over yet. All of our past successes are merely stepping stones leading us toward what lies ahead. Will you join us on this journey?
WHAT TO EXPECT
Wondering what you can expect when you attend our services? Our services are welcoming, engaging, and supportive. During our service, we worship God with music and singing, then move into teaching and preaching from the Bible. You can come and engage in our church services, or you can just observe them at your own comfort level. Take some time to explore the website and learn more about Revival Temple, and maybe visit one of our services online.
We believe that Jesus is at the center of everything—all of creation and all of God’s Word points to Jesus Christ and serves to lift Him high. It is our ambition to value Jesus and His glory above all else. Knowing Jesus is our highest goal and greatest prize. Our call in this life is to love Him above all else and obey His command to go and tell other people the good news. Because He first loved us, we love Him.
“ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
- the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God.
- worship of God should be spiritual; therefore, we remain flexible and yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
- worship of God should be inspirational; therefore, we provide a great place for music in our worship.
- worship of God should be intelligent; therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He would be worshiped.
- the Bible is the inspired Word of God; therefore, we teach and preach only the infallible and authoritative written Word of God.
- the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in Christ.
- the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing.
- the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.
- the hope of the church is the second coming of our Lord.
